TNA Impact Wrestling, Full Review & Results, 27th June 2013

Welcome to this week's review of the latest TNA Impact Wrestling.

Quick Results are located at the bottom of this page!

TNA kicked things off from showing a video footage from week one of The Bound For Glory Series and briefly wrapping what happened up. For those of you who didn't know, the footage shows all 12 competitors brawling in the ring at the start of the show. It show's Anderson, Austin Aries, Christopher Daniels, Magnus and Jeff Hardy all picking up points with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe ending in a stalemate.

It then goes on to showing Sting kick starting the rebirth of Main Event Mafia along with the Bully and Hogan's storyline. It shows Sting discreetly meeting with an unknown figure in the shadows regarding the Mafia, only for that person to be revealed as none other than Kurt Angle.

In this episode of Impact Wrestling we see X-Division Champion, Chris Sabin put his championship on the line in a 3 way match up. It is also the return of TNA Gut Check, who will triumph in a fight to gain a TNA contract. There will also be the TNA Knockouts Championship as Velvet Sky finally gets her rematch against current reigning champion Mickie James.

Main Event Mafia, Sting
TNA Impact Wrestling
To start things off officially is the man who will be leading the fight to The Aces & Eights to regain control and balance, it's 'The Icon' Sting. Sting starts things off straight towards TNA World Heavyweight Champion and the president of The Aces & Eights Bully Ray by telling him he said Main Event Mafia would rise and that they would grow. He then tells him what he experienced last week was just a little touch of what's to come and that's why he back to where he started, to the very beginning and the future corner stone of the Main Event Mafia, Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle then makes his way to the ring and starts off by telling the fans what they're looking at are two of the originals of the Main Event Mafia from nearly four years ago. He then goes on to explain the concept of what Main Event Mafia was about. This being that each member had to be a former World Heavyweight Champion and that they fought for power and that they fought for the World Heavyweight Title and that they did what they wanted when they and where they wanted and nobody could stop them.

Angle then went on to stating that unfortunately now that seems to be The Aces & Eights, except they stepped it up a whole other level and been more violent and vicious than anyone in this business has ever been. He then reminded because of them Sting can't wrestler for the World Heavyweight Title for the rest of his career and because of The Aces & Eights, Angle was screwed from The Bound For Glory Series amongst other things they've done to him. He mentions real family stick together and that this is the new and improved Main Event Mafia. Angle states that he and Sting are both Hall of Famers but that doesn't count for anything until they've done two things. Firstly destroy The Aces & Eights and secondly make sure Bully Ray loses to the World Heavyweight Title. Angle wraps things up by saying tonight they'll fight fire with fire and tonight they'll see the newest addition to the family.
Bully Ray, D.O.C & Anderson grabbing Chris Sabin
TNA Impact Wrestling

It then shows footage from the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary between Kenny King, Suicide and Chris Sabin which saw Chris Sabin become the new X-Division Champion.
It then goes backstage to Chris Sabin who is soon grabbed by D.O.C from The Aces & Eights and dragged into van and put against the wall by D.O.C and Anderson. Bully tells Sabin to relax and wants to wish him well in his match and for him to do the right thing and not cash in his shot at his title.

Kurt's Notes:

Personally I enjoyed the Main Event Mafia promo, some people may think Sting and Angle have had their time, but I still find it enjoyable watching them. I thought it was a good introduction of Angle and how he reiterated what Main Event Mafia is about, World Champions. I find it key that these two are in the Main Event Mafia, as they're main eventers and the only two TNA Hall of Famers. Good to know that there's going to be another addition which is going to keep fans intrigued and wondering who it is going to be.
An ok piece from Bully and co grabbing Chris Sabin, think it's a good thing that he is acknowledging that there's an opportunity of a title shot because of the X-Division Championship and I'm hoping it is Chris Sabin's turn. Unfortunately with the Bound For Glory Series and Main Event Mafia vs The Aces & Eights I can't see Chris Sabin staying in the title picture for long which is a shame.

Adam Ohriner
TNA Gut Check Challenger
It then goes to video footage from one of tonight's Gut Check challengers, 27 year old Adam Ohriner. Ohriner is also known as 'The Big O' this will be due to his size, a 6ft 2 250lb beast. Ohriner was trained by ECW original Mikey Whipwreck competes mostly in the New York independent circuit and is a regular for Pro Wrestling Syndicate where he was the NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion and New York Wrestling Connection where he is the current NYWC Heavyweight Champion in which he has held the Championship since February 23rd 2013. Ohriner with no high school or amateur wrestling background has only been wrestling for a surprising 2 years yet built another credentials to be voted and win his TNA Gut Check Bracket.

Here we have it the first match of the night for the X-Division Championship. Out first are the challengers, both being former TNA X-Division Champions; Suicide and Kenny King. Then met by the champion Chris Sabin. To remind you all the winner of this match will be the one with the opportunity to cash the championship in at Destination X for a shot at Bully Ray's World Heavyweight Championship. It doesn't take long before these three competitors start flying about with drop kicks and fast paced manoeuvres. Early in the match we see Kenny King mocking Suicide doing his Spiderman like dive and hanging on the ropes. King is met by a suicide drop kick out to floor and followed up with a rolling flip from suicide.
New X-Division Champion, Suicide
TNA Impact Wrestling
However Sabin gains control of the match delivering a Cross Body to both competitors out ringside. After the commercial break, Sabin still looking strong with a near 2 fall on Kenny King who manages to kick out. With the match going back and forth we saw King get a near 2 fall on the champion by power bombing Sabin who was Superplexing Suicide from the middle rope. It looked like Sabin had got the pin to defend his championship as he hit King with the Hail Sabin for it to be broken up by Suicide on 2. This getting the (This Is Awesome) chant from the fans. After King and Suicide going back and forth in the ring with Sabin laid out on the floor. King went for the win by hitting the Royal Flush on Suicide who managed to reverse into a pin and get the victory by grabbing the ropes for support. Suicide is the new TNA X-Division Champion and will get a shot at caching in at Destination X.

Winner: Suicide, the new X-Division Champion

Kurt's Notes:

So the VT on Gut Check challenger Adam Ohriner was what it was. However to talk about the guy, he's a beast, hopefully he'll actually be able to wrestling and not just do the same powerhouse moves. Only time will tell on whether he gets a contract and if he has more than that. The fact he's only been wrestling for 2 years and has this opportunity is very impressive. The X-Division match didn't disappoint, I'm a huge fan of the X-Division. Although this wasn't the best X-Division match in history I still enjoyed watching with a slight twist. Due to the fact of 3 competitors in every match, you never know who is going to win but because of all the hype and tonight's promo with Chris Sabin, I was expecting him to defend. However Suicide got the win and became new X-Division Champion and now it looks like its going to be Suicide vs Bully Ray for the World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X.

TJ Perkins and Hulk Hogan
TNA Impact Wrestling
As new X-Division Champion Suicide celebrates outcomes TNA general manager Hulk Hogan with an injured TJ Perkins, who is also known as Puma whom featured in TNA's One Night Only Xtravaganza. Hulk Hogan talks about TJ being a hard worker but then goes on stating that TJ Perkins is the guy who has always been Suicide and is the real Suicide this leaving the one in the ring to be an imposter. Hogan tells everyone TJ was jumped and the suit was stolen and someone has cheated their way into getting to the top. Hogan said he wants to see who's under the mask which leads to the imposter running from the ring into the crowd. Leaving the question who attacked TJ Perkins and posed as Suicide to
become X-Division Champion. It quickly goes backstage to Hogan who says he's giving the imposter till the end of the night to come and take off the mask and show everyone who he really is.

It then goes to footage for the second TNA Gut Check Challenger, 25 year old Ryan Howe. Howe is also a musician which is explained in his video footage. Howe is best known for his Tough Enough participation and wrestling for OVW. After winning his bracket he now only has one thing left to do impress against his Gut Check opponent and find out next week whether he will be getting a contract with TNA Impact Wrestling.

Now we have it, the Gut Check challenge and introduced first is Ryan Howe, who comes down to the ring playing his electric guitar, which seemed to interest the crowd. Outcomes the second challenger Adam Ohriner who is all business and just walks straight down to the ring with an intense feel to him. Ohriner understandably starts things with his size proving to be a factor throwing Howe about. For a big guy Ohriner is moving fast with his grapples as he rolls out of a roll up.
Ohriner in complete control of this match using a couple of his powerful moves; a vicious Irish Whip into the turnbuckle, Body Slam and a brutal Clothesline. Howe showing some heart as he manages to get the big guy down and get a 2 count after a combo of fast paced moves. Howe then went for what seemed to be his finished due to his reaction, which is reversed by Ohriner who follows up with a Power Slam and gained the victory.

Winner: Adam Ohriner

Kurt's Notes:

Big twist at the end of the X-Division Championship match. I enjoyed this for a numerous of reasons, I've been wanting TJ Perkins in the X-Division for quite some while after seeing his appearance as Puma at TNA One Night Only Xtravaganza. Now that he is Suicide I'm happy with, now TNA will have a Suicide character nailed down. I also like the fact of who is the imposter? Who is the guy that will have the chance to cash in the championship and face Bully Ray for the World Title at Destination X. Ryan Howe, is the typical musician wrestler with the rock and roll gimmick however I like the fact he used this and played an electric guitar on the way to the ring. The guy certainly has a lot of charisma. The match wasn't too bad, but due to size and surprisingly speed, it was Ohriner that impressed me. This guy could be put to some good use in TNA. I'm hoping Ohriner gets given his TNA contract and comes up from OVW sooner rather than later depending on whether he can cut promos and has more moves in his locker.

It goes over to the backstage area where Sting is talking to Kurt Angle telling him it will be better this time round. It then goes to TJ Perkins in the locker rooms where he is joined by Bully Ray who tells him he is a hell of a wrestler and that he has a bright future and tells him that he's his friend. Bully then asks TJ whether Angle & Sting put him up to this tonight, that being someone else dressing up as Suicide. He then rephrased the question and asks if he positive that it wasn't them. TJ replies saying he was working towards a huge opportunity which got taken away from being jumped. TJ then tells Bully he doesn't know who did it before walking away.

A video package is aired which is showing the struggle that Velvet Sky has one through regarding her knee and build up to the feud with Mickie James regarding the TNA Knockout Championship.
Now for the third match of the night, it is for the TNA Knockouts Championship. It is Velvet Sky getting her rematch against champion Mickie James.

Things start off by Mickie talking on the mic to Velvet, being sarcastic and having sly digs at Velvet. This leads to Velvet snapping and spears Mickie with repeatedly slamming her head into the canvas and then the turnbuckles. Mickie soon tried getting back in control of things but soon shut down by Velvet with a Side Leg Sweep, which only got a 2 count. Mickie seems to have the front foot in this match after targeting the weak knee of Velvet. Mickie carries on targeting the knee of Velvet which is proving to weaken her and give Mickie the advantage. Velvet then somehow manages to get back in control and come close with a 2 count following a Bulldog. Mickie tries to get a breather from going out ringside, however she is soon met by Velvet who performs a hurricarana and follows with a spear. After brawling out on the floor, referee ODB breaks them up. The match is then going back and forth between Mickie & Velvet with both coming close to winning with 2 counts. Again Mickie targets the knee of Velvet with her Cross-Legged STF finisher and forces Velvet to tap out to get the win.

Winner: Mickie James, still TNA Knockout Champion

Back to the ring where ODB having to help Velvet get to her feet due to the injured knee, as Velvet is leaving the ring Christie Hemme asks Velvet what's going through her mind right now. Velvet receiving a (You Tapped Out) from the crowd says she thought her knee was ok and that she is heartbroken right now as she limps off crying.

Backstage once again to the Main Event Mafia, Sting & Angle. Sting patting Angle on the shoulder and soon after Bobby Roode walks between them both with a grin on his face stops then walks off with both Angle and Sting grinning to themselves. Is Bobby Roode going to be the next member of Main Event Mafia?

'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode
TNA Impact Wrestling

Kurt's Notes:

It looks like Main Event Mafia are getting Bully Ray paranoid, With Bully going backstage and confronting TJ Perkins if he'd been approached by Angle or Sting shows there is worry on the mind of the champion. I like this is it will now rub off with the fans watching, did Main Event Mafia have anything to do with the Suicide imposter to take the title off Bully sooner rather than later?
A good match with Velvet and Mickie James, I don't know if it is a legitimate injury or if its just to get Velvet off TV for a while. I have been impressed with the Knockouts of late; Terrell, Kim, Velvet and Mickie James have all been stepping up their game and making it enjoyable to watch the Knockouts in action.
With everyone still wondering about who Main Event Mafia are going to recruit tonight, there's more speculation mounting, whether its the Suicide imposter, but now because of the backstage footage of Angle and Sting grinning as Bobby Roode walks between them grinning will get the fans wondering. Is 'The IT Factor' the longest reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion joining up with the Main Event Mafia?

Now for the forth match of the night and the first Bound For Glory Series match of the night. It is former World Heavyweight Champion 'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode facing Magnus. Magnus currently top of the leader board with 10 points after making Frankie Kazarian tap out last week with the Texas Cloverleaf. Bobby Roode is currently on 0 points after losing last week to fellow former Bound For Glory Series winner, Jeff Hardy.

Magnus
TNA Impact Wrestling

The match starts off with both competitors doing various grapple hold with neither getting the better of the other. Magnus went for the early win with the Texas Cloverleaf but Roode scarpers and wriggles out the ring. He soon pulls Magnus ringside with him Magnus however getting the better of Roode until they get back into the ring with Roode overtaking control of the match. Magnus finally gets to separation from Roode with a Back Drop Superplex and then follows up with a couple of Clotheslines. Magnus then catches Roode who attempted a Cross Body off the top rope and his a Sideward Superplex on Roode. Magnus goes up on the top rope which allowed Roode to try regain control of the match.
However Magnus counters and knocks Roode onto the mat and follows up with an impressive Diving Elbow Drop which could only get a 2 count. Roode manages to get the front foot once more after delivering a Spine Buster to Magnus, he then shouts "What have I got to do huh?" which the commentators say is aimed to Sting & Angle. Roode then went to hit his finisher Pay Off on Magnus, however Magnus counters and hits his own finisher MDD on Roode and manages to get the 3 count and the 7 BFG Series points.

Winner: Magnus, 7 points for The Bound For Glory Series

It goes to the locker room where Bully Ray, D.O.C & Anderson are questioning the guys in the back to which one of them was Suicide, those guys being; Jesse Godderz, Chavo Guerrero and Robbie E. He then asks if any of them have been talking to Sting or Angle. Then walk away.

Over to the ring, the TNA Tag Team Champions, 'The Cowboy' James Storm & Gunner are in their with a mic. Storm doing his usual getting the crowd fired up talking about beer and women and his idea of a good time. He then states one thing he has learned from being a 12 Time Tag Team Champion is that you don't have to like your partner or get along, just as long as the partner turns up to work and has your back then your good to go. He then states that's why he chose Gunner to be his tag team partner and that's the reason your looking at the World Tag Team Champions. Storm then tells the everyone he knows there is a lot of tough guys in the back and then is interrupted by; Jesse Godderz, Robbie E & Tara.

TNA Tag Team Champions
Gunner & 'The Cowboy' James Storm
Robbie E grabs a mic and tells the champs they're not the toughest and that they're looking at the toughest guys in the locker room. He then states that it was a big mistake by Storm by picking Gunner to be his tag team partner rather than Robbie E but now it is too late because "the train has sailed down the road bro". He then refers to himself & Godderz as the future of tag team wrestling and calls themselves 'Bro-Mans'. Storm then asks if they said bromance and whether the two of them are a thing now, this gets the crowd chanting (bromance). After trading words, Storm refers to Tara of being what they call in a bar is a 'butter face. This gets the crowd chanting once again (Butter Face), this gets to Godderz who goes for Storm but Gunner jumps in the way and drops Godderz who is soon pulled out the ring by Robbie E & Tara. Storm then tells Gunner he didn't have to knock him it out but he might as well say "Sorry about your damn luck".

Again it goes back to Main Event Mafia backstage, they mention everyone is wondering about the third member of the mafia and who he is and wondering who is the guy under the Suicide mask. Angle then I presume plays games with Bully's paranoia and says they might go see the mystery man themselves and walk away. Could the man under the Suicide mask be the third member of The Main Event Mafia, this meaning they get their title shot at Destination X?

Kurt's Notes:

I enjoyed the BFG Series match between Magnus and Bobby Roode, with both men coming close to wins and taking into account Magnus already has 10 points and Roode with 0 I wasn't sure which way this match would go. The outcome with Magnus winning I was pleased with not only got 7 more points in the BFG Series but got a very impressive win against one of the best talents in pro wrestling to day. Wasn't really pleased with the so called tag team that interrupted the champs, I mean we've gone from Gunner & Storm, Chavo & Hernandez, Bad Influence and Aries & Roode to 'Bro-Mans'; Jesse Godderz & Robbie E. Unfortunately because of the BFG Series this is what TNA has to offer, but now I think its time to tap into the OVW pool or do a tag team tournament with four teams allowed to enter first come first served. This could lead to old tags reforming, current tags re-entering the picture or new tags coming about. They could also look at OVW with Sam Shaw & Alex Silva give these two young guys a chance or call up the likes of Crimson and find him a pairing that would work. I'm disappointed with 'Bro-Mans' and I hope this ends sooner rather than later. Would you agree?
I also enjoyed seeing the Mafia playing mind games again saying they might go talk to the imposter Suicide.

Former X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe
TNA Impact Wrestling
It then goes to the final match of the night, which is also the second BFG Series match of the night. First out representing The Aces & Eights, Mr Anderson and his opponent 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe. Mr Anderson is currently on 7 points after last weeks victory over Joseph Park and Samoa Joe is on 2 points after his draw with AJ Styles. So the match is underway and despite some early strikes from Samoa Joe to Anderson, the latter has been in most control throughout the early duration of the match. Anderson still in control, in the early stages gets a 2 count from a swinging neck breaker. Samoa Joe soon after gets back into the match, getting himself a close 2 count with a Running Senton. With Joe in control of things, it means one thing, out come the cavalry with Knox & D.O.C running down to the ring circling Joe. With Joe being distracted, Anderson got the chance with a lethal DDT however this could only get a 2 count. Joe hits a Snap Slam to get a breather and with both men laid out, Knox & D.O.C are up on the ramp and before you know it out come Main Event Mafia as Angle & Sting come out and attack Knox & D.O.C from behind and just assaulting them all over ringside until they retreat back through the crowd. Anderson went for the Mic Check on Joe who grabs on the ropes to reverse and follows up with the Coquina Clutch and forces Anderson getting him the win and 10 points for The BFG Series due to winning via submission and taking his points total to 12.

Winner: Samoa Joe, 10 points for The Bound For Glory Series

After the match Angle & Sting get in the ring and surround Joe, then before you know it they're shaking hands and showing their respect in the ring. The we see it Samoa Joe doing the 'M' with his hands as the Main Event Mafia music hits. Samoa Joe has join Angle & Sting. Samoa Joe has joined the family. Samoa Joe is the third member of the Main Event Mafia!

It follows the Mafia backstage with Joe walking up to Sting & Angle where they welcome him to the mafia giving him a suit in the process.

Back to the ring and outcomes TNA General Manager, Hulk Hogan. Hogan tells the Suicide imposter that he needs to get on out here otherwise he'll be taking the X-Division Championship away from him. This leads to Suicide coming out to the ring and joining Hogan. Hogan tells Suicide that he's been round the block a few times and "pressed giants over his head and chopped mountains with the corner of his hand". He then tells Suicide to pull off the mask in the ring because he wants to see who it is. Suicide just starts shaking his head and nodding his head when asked if it is his final answer.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Bully Ray
TNA Impact Wrestling

Then hits The Aces & Eights music as TNA World Heavyweight Champion and their president, Bully Ray. Bully starts off by referring Hogan as Dad and tells him for the first time in a long time they're on the same page and that he wants to know who Suicide is. He then tells Suicide to take off his mask and again Suicide shakes his head. Bully tells Suicide the only reason he won the belt is because he put the fear of God in Chris Sabin about cashing in the X-Division Championship early on in the show. He then takes it back and tells Suicide he put the fear of him into Chris Sabin, this referring to himself being greater than God. He tells Suicide to walk away because he is a bad person who does bad things.

Hogan then tells Suicide to take the mask off right now, now Suicide starts talking with a deep put on voice with a cryptic speech. He finishes by telling Bully that he comes out asking the fans if they know who he is, then states that the question to be asked is "do you know who I am". Suicide then goes I am the man who beat you before, then pulls off the mask and it turns out the person who attacked the real Suicide, TJ Perkins is 'A Double' Austin Aries. As he pulled off his mask he tells Bully he was the guy he invented option C, he is the guy that cashed in the X-Division title and won the World Heavyweight Championship last year, and he's the man who's going to do it again.
TNA Impact Wrestling then goes off the wait with both guys looking shocked at the reveal of Aries.

New X-Division Champion and the Suicide Imposter.
'A Double' Austin Aries
TNA Impact Wrestling
Kurt's Notes:

A good match between Samoa Joe and Mr Anderson, with a good finish for Joe getting the submission win with 10 points gained. I liked the fact he is going to be in the Main Event Mafia, I'm now hoping with this role and after the Mafia, Samoa Joe will be used to full potential. This guy should be one of the faces of Impact Wrestling and be used as the dominant force that he is. He and Magnus where a good tag team and had a good feud with Magnus being heel. This could be so much better if it was for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship with roles reversed, Samoa Joe being the best he is with Magnus being the babyface this time round. Main Event Mafia now looking strong with Kurt Angle, Sting and Samoa Joe, but who will be their next addition? Will it be Austin Aries and was they behind him winning the X-Division Championship, will 'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode join up with the family? Only time will tell. On that note it was a good reveal which was unexpected that the man who invented option C to cash in the championship and have that a yearly thing be the man to steal the title away from Sabin weeks before Destination X to get the title shot against Bully Ray. Overall a decent show.

                                                WWE Monday Night Raw 25/06/2013

WWE Monday Night Raw review and results

Last weeks episode of Monday Night Raw was interesting to say the least now lets see what this week has to offer,This weeks show starts with a video package about what happened last week including Brock Lesnar attacking CM Punk and the confrontation between John Cena and Mark Henry.

Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton
Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring for his rubber match with Randy Orton, Bryan then cuts a promo about his size and how people have always thought of him as the weak link, Bryan goes on to say that he "will not be satisfied until he makes Randy Orton tap out in the middle of that ring. Orton makes his entrance and picks up the microphone to tell Daniel Bryan to shut up and fight .Bryan starts on the attack, they both start brawling and it eventually gets taken to the outside and the match gets stopped before it even got started ,moments later Orton and Bryan are separated .

Winner(s): No contest

Backstage segment

Raw returns with Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero backstage been interrupted by Daniel Bryan complaining about the officials decision and he is then granted his wish of match with Brad Maddox, Vince McMahon then walks in as Daniel Bryan leaves and Mr McMahon  comments on how some people think Daniel Bryan shouldn't be a WWE superstar because of his lack of size and build

We are then back to the ring for a tag team match featuring team Rhodes Scholars vs Sheamus and Captain Charisma Christian ,Christian gets this one under way with Cody, but team Rhodes Scholars double team Christian until he makes the hot tag to Sheamus, Sheamus dominates team Rhodes scholars and he hits Rhodes with a broad kick for the quick win.

Winner(s): Sheamus And Christian

Backstage Segment
Backstage Vickie is talking to CM Punk and she is telling him he "has a match tonight" and punk just wants to know where Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar are. This is a fude that we have all been waiting for well at least I have and it is looking like it is set to explode .

Kaitlin vs Aksana
Kaitlin starts the match as her music comes on and AJ walks out dressed up as Kaitlin as she impersonates her in an attempt to mock her, Aksana attempts to take advantage with a roll up that is reversed and she is then speared by Kaitlin for the win.
Winner(s): Kaitlin
Post match promo with AJ and Big E acting out Big Es' proposal to her and how they pulled the wool over her eyes .

Vignette
Another video package is aired about the Wyatt family ,I really cant wait for these guys make there debut on Monday Night Raw, they look fresh and something new I would like to see them fude with the shield from the get go.

Chris Jericho vs Alberto Del Rio
It is now time for y2j vs The World Heavy Weight Champion Alberto Del Rio, the crowd is for y2j as he salutes to the people as Del Rio takes over, this one went backwards and forth for a while and it was a great match from both guys, Jericho reversed the arm bar by bouncing his feet off the ropes to put Alberto Del Rio into the walls of Jericho and at that point Ricardo Rodriguez saw Del Rio in trouble and then jumped into the ring and attacked Jericho with his bucket. Jericho was outnumbered only for Ziggler to come out and attacks Alberto Del Rio,Y2J hits Rodriguez with a code breaker as Ziggler hits Del Rio with a Zig Zag and that ends this encounter with a stair down between Ziggler and Y2J.

Winner(s):Chris Jericho

Backstage Segment
HHH confronts Vickie  And he asks them if they was thinking of cancelling Bryan's match tonight and Vickie replies with "yes he is too small Mr McMahon was right, HHH disagrees and tells her "the WWE universe decides and should get what they want and I want you to have this match and I want you to give the WWE universe the choice of the stipulation and HHH finishes by asking brad if they make that shirt in men's sizes.

Back to the ring and Jerry The king Lawler is going to announce the cover of the new wrestling game WWE2K14 and he tells the WWE universe they can have the chance to create there own cover if they go online and enter the competition with that said Vickie Guerrero interrupts and shows off her cover for the game it shows Vince, Stephanie and HHH. Brad Maddox says he doesn't want to step on toes but as back up I made my cover of the future of the WWE ,that included John Cena, CM Punk And himself. Jerry The King Lawler then presents the actual cover for the game and it is none other than The Most Electrifying man in all of Sports and Entertainment.

Ryback vs The Great Kali
A quick match this time as Kali attacks Ryback in the corner, eventually Ryback gets out of the corner and finishes Kali off with a Shell shock. I really didn't like this match I thought it was a waste of Ryback and if they are going to put him in a match like this they could use somebody better and more deserving than Kali.

Winner(s):Ryback

John Cena comes out to cut a promo on the WWE Championship saying "The WWE Championship puts you in a fraternity if you have it because you have the respect of your peers". He then goes on to say that men will go very low to chase the WWE Championship and that Mark Henry is a disaster and his speech was a disgrace to guys like ,Edge, HBK And the Nature Boy Ric Flair. And then Cena finishes The promo in his same old boring fashion of The Champ Is here.

Tons Of Funk Vs The Usos Vs 3Mb
Jinder Mohall starts this off with jay Uso and hammers him down ,momentum changes as the Uso tag in and out effectively to keep control of the match. Brodus clay tags in and knocks 3Mb and Jay Uso out of the ring and then jumps off the apron onto them, that leaves sweet t and jimmy Uso, as Jay Uso is swung off the ropes he connects with a super kick into a Samoan drop and then jimmy Uso connects with a decent splash off the top rope and that gives them the win.

Winner(s):The Usos

Outcomes the shield starring down the Usos from the crowed to the ring. This is a great move by WWE putting this match together ,I see it as the shield an up and coming team vs the Usos a great tag team that haven't got there break yet.

In ring promo
A promo with Paul Heyman he states he has "ignored CM Punks texts, phone calls and E mails for the first time ever and that WWE universe and Paul Heyman await your presence".

CM Punk in 2005 I was given a contract with WWE and at the time that goof John lauranitiz was head of talent relations and up here Paul Heyman ran the development system and Paul Heyman was considered to never even bring cm punk to Smackdown or raw ,Paul Heyman refused to fire cm Punk,I don't mean to bore anyone but now I got to say 1st I want you to tell Lesnar I'm coming for him I don't care that he is bigger or stronger because he isn't better than me"
than punk goes on to say that there is no one more dangerous than himself and that he will do what ever he has to bring Lesnar down.

Paul Heyman went on to say that he never had anything to do with Lesnar attacking the best in the world cm punk, and that he will walk down that isle one day when cm punk is challenging for the WWE championship in the main even at Wrestlemania that is his dream , he went on to say that he loves cm punk and he is his best friend in the world.CM Punk says "I'm sorry I doubted you "then Paul Heyman and CM Punk hug It out.

Darren Young Vs CM Punk
Darren Young takes it to Punk until Punk Grounds Darren young and targets his legs, Young then turns the tables on him with a headlock and punk tries to escape the hold with no success but now he does and a high knee to Young.Cm Punk with the anaconda vice and Young taps out. A really good match and I was very impressed with the showing of Darren Young. And now the attack begins p2p jumping punk ,and here comes Axel to do the save and now its fair and square to the disappointment of CM Punk.

Winner(s):CM Punk

Backstage segment

Money In The Bank

  • CM Punk
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Sheamus
  • Randy Orton

  • Kane
  • RVD
I really like the concept of this match type but I still believe it should be at Wrestlemania with that said This MITB Ladder match looks great there is some great WWE Superstars in this one, including the return of Mr Monday Night Rob Van Dam

Backstage segment
The Ryback is backstage with Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero complaining about always getting screwed and that its not fair he deserves a re match with John Cena, Chris Jericho appears and says "deserving better see me get attacked from behind, how about not been in the MITB after creating the match", Ryback "cry me a river I could eat you alive". Mark Henry then tells everyone "I'm coming home all right, I'm coming home as WWE Champion.

Randy Orton Vs Daniel Bryan
Results for the public vote to determine the stipulation of Daniel Bryan Vs Randy Orton match and the result  was a street fight ,outcomes Daniel Bryan immediately, soon after here comes Orton. they get off to a fast start brawling and soon enough it is on to the outside, Bryan gets back in the ring to attempt a suicide dive and Orton surprises him with a huge chair shot to the head also Orton back body dropped Bryan on the metal ramp. The match is then took back into the ring where they both jocel for position and power, a cane is then introduced into the match they then take it in turns on taking each other apart with the cane. Bryan attempts the no lock for Orton to power out using the cane , soon after Orton is in the same predicament and Orton tries using the cane again fro Bryan to reverse it and press the cane against Orton's face, Orton has no option but to tap out and  Bryan wins.

Winner(s):Daniel Bryan

Randy Orton has a stair down with Daniel Bryan and then they eventually shake hands and then Orton walks backstage. It was a truly class act by Orton to show Daniel Bryan that kind of respect.

The main event did not let down and in my opinion was by far the best match of the night but then again I'm not surprised as in the match there was Randy Orton and who some people will say is in fact the best wrestler in the world Daniel Bryan. The match itself had everything from Bryan's amazing technical style to brawling with chairs and canes

TNA Impact, Peoria, Illinois, 06/20/2013 (20th June) Full Review and Results

Welcome to this week's review of the latest TNA Impact Wrestling show which is from Peoria, Illinois.

So this weeks show of TNA Impact Wrestling started off showing footage earlier on in the day with one man arriving at the arena however wasn't wearing his iconic face paint no, it was the official return of the Main Event Mafia with the boss, STING.

The show then showed a video segment on 'The Bound For Glory Series'. This containing footage of previous winners stories before winning the series such as Bobby Roode and Jeff Hardy and showing those who are in the series this year and what they're fighting for such as AJ Styles and many more.

All you TNA fans know what The Bound For Glory series is all about, but for those who may be unfamiliar, The Bound For Glory Series is something that can make their career just like that. Something which could give a dog his day, someone who has always been an outcast in the World Heavyweight Championship but giving them their chance to shine against the best within the company and try get, what to some seems to be an illusive opportunity for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The rules of this series is that there will be 12 TNA Impact wrestlers who will compete in a series of matches spread over several months trying to pick up the most points to try and get their shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The wrestlers are able to win points in a variety of ways and in a variety of match stipulations. The points are as followed:

10 Points for a submission victory
7 Points for a pinfall victory
5 Points for a count out victory
2 Points for a DQ victory
    2 Points for a draw
10 Points deducted for a DQ Loss
Special matches tend to be made with the winner gaining 20 points.
The standard BFG series matches also have a 15 minute time limit.

This upcoming Bound For Glory Series is only the third one ever and the first year of its existence saw what it can do for ones career. This is because in 2011, Beer Money Inc; James Storm & Bobby Roode entered the competition which saw both men get through to the finals with the latter being top of the leader board and winning the whole series. Bobby Roode got his break, as did James Storm, two guys that seemed to be nothing but tag team wrestlers made their name. In 2012, the winner was one person who was on his path to redemption and the man who won the series and successfully beat the champion Austin Aries to become a 3 time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy. So here it is, Bound For Glory Series 2013 starts right now!

So here we have it folks, from the Heart of Illinois, Peoria, TNA Impact Wrestling.

Things kick off with 10 of the 12 Bound For Glory contestants  waiting in the ring who are soon met by TNA general manager Hulk Hogan. The 10 contestants that are part of the Bound For Glory Series 12 are the following:
  • AJ Styles
  • Christopher Daniels
  • Frankie Kazarian
  • Austin Aries
  • Samoa Joe
  • Magnus
  • Hernandez
  • Joseph Park
  • Aces & Eights member Mr Anderson
  • Gut Check winner Jay Bradley
Hogan starts off with his usual with greeting the crowd and reminds everyone its 'Open Fight Night'. Hogan then introduces the past two winners of The Bound For Glory series who pre-qualified for the series due to their previous success to join the Bound For Glory series contestants who are currently in the ring. First Hulk Hogan brings out the 2011 Bound For Glory Series winner, a former TNA Heavyweight World Champion which he held for a record reign of 256 straight days, a former 7 time TNA World Tag Team Champion, 'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode. The second wrestler Hogan brings out to make it 12, is the 2012 Bound For Glory Series winner, a 3 time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and the man who also found success with a combined 19 championships in WWE, 'The Charismatic Enigma' Jeff Hardy.

'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode confrontation with 'The Charismatic Enigma' Jeff Hardy
TNA Impact Wrestling

Hogan goes back to the fact that it is 'Open Fight Night' and reveal the winner of a fan poll that has been on going on TNA.com between Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode to see who gets to call out the first BFG contestant right here tonight on Impact and the winner is Jeff Hardy. Hardy goes to grab the mic to announce who he is going to call out, however 'A Double' Austin Aries buts in before Hardy has anything to say stating that he'd love nothing more to be the man who he calls out first and foremost but says that's not going to happen because as popular as Jeff Hardy is, then stating possibly the most popular man in TNA. He then goes to saying there's one more man in TNA that the fans cheer for wherever he goes and that's him Austin Aries.
Christopher Daniels then interrupts with calling Hardy 'Jefferson' saying maybe he should call out Austin Aries but then goes on to saying or Joseph Park or Magnus but then tells him he should call out either member of Bad Influence that being himself and Frankie Kazarian because it will start this BFG Series with his most demoralising defeat of his career.
Then finally Jeff Hardy gets his say on who he is calling out and states that the rest of the guys are great but he's calling the man who last week made things personal between them, Jeff Hardy calls out fellow BFG winner 'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode.
Bobby Roode starts things off by pushing Jeff Hardy, this leads to both Hardy and Samoa Joe shoving Bobby Roode and before we know it all 12 BFG contestants start brawling in the ring.

All 12 Bound For Glory contestants brawling in the ring!
TNA Impact Wrestling

Kurt's Notes:

A good way to start the show off in my opinion having all competitors in the ring along with giving Hardy and Roode their own personal introduction to the ring acknowledging their past achievements in The Bound For Glory Series. Was also good to show the fight of the competitors with all 12 brawling in the ring.

Mr Anderson - The Aces & Eights
TNA Impact Wrestling
Things then go to a commercial break and as it returns its the first BFG Series of the night. Outcomes a former 2 time TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mr Anderson to call out his opponent and doesn't take long doing so and says the person he is calling out is a guaranteed dove (W) Joseph Park. Anderson qualified for the BFG Series by winning an Aces & Eights battle royal, however wasn't much of a fight as the group fixed Anderson to win. The second competitor Joseph Park gained qualification by beating a more dominant Crimson, with what seemed to be a 'lucky' win.
So Anderson starts things off with mocking the ability of Park by bending over telling him to get him in a headlock but soon reverses with a laid back take down. He then goes on to doing the exact same however as he reverses, Park delivers a shock reversal, takes down Anderson and starts slapping his head. This makes Anderson take things seriously and soon mounts an offence to Park. Surprisingly Anderson isn't in complete control and Park seems to show signs of mounting an offence which he does as he applies a Boston Crab to Anderson before lets go due to the fact D.O.C comes ringside. This distracts Park which allows Anderson to get a roll up however only gets a 2 count. Joseph Park then delivers 2 back to back pushes which sends Anderson to the mat before going up on the middle rope, Anderson grabs the referee as a distraction which allows D.O.C to kick the back of Park to send him back to his feet on the mat, this then allows Anderson to follow up with a Mic Check to get the 3 count on 5:05 and kicks things off with a win to pick up 7 points.

It then goes backstage to the BGF contestants who are waiting for it to be their turn to go out to call a fellow contestant out. Following a commercial break it goes backstage to The Aces & Eights with Anderson saying he did what he said he was going to do and then goes on to saying to the guys that he thinks they're looking at the next VP of The Aces & Eights. This then leads to D.O.C having his say, after D.O.C taking it to Anderson last week and not listening to the plan Aces & Eights previously put together. D.O.C states that for the duration of the match Anderson was skating backwards before he had to do something and help him and if anyone should be VP it should be him. This leads to them both arguing before President and World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray gets in the middle of them and tells them enough and that it is two weeks in a row these two are at each others throats. He then states that the vacant VP slot is going to be put up to a vote but tonight they have other business to attend to and that the business involves Bully's wife Brooke Hogan.

Kurt's Notes:

A typical Joseph Park matchup, no disrespect to him, but I aren't a big fan of this character and sooner that Abyss returns properly the better. Glad that Anderson picked up the 7 points. Also interesting to see the friction with Anderson and D.O.C following on to the second week, we've already seen the fall of D'Lo Brown within The Aces & Eights and now it seems that they may have more internal problems with the Anderson & D.O.C. I believe that it won't be too long before a Brooke Hogan 'heel' turn and turn on her father and join her husband Bully Ray. Whether its genuine feelings from Bully or just mind games per usual, they seem to be working.

Jay Bradley
TNA Impact Wrestling
Following the return to the ring, we prepare for the second BFG Series match of the night with Gut Check winner Jay Bradley standing in the ring ready to call out his opponent. Jay Bradley tells everyone he's keeping it short and simple and the man he is calling out was the TNA World Heavyweight Champion last summer during BFG Series 2012 and shook things up in TNA, also a former X-Division Champion and TNA Tag Team Champion along with being a successful champion in ROH, that man is Austin Aries. Bradley showing his confidence and tells Aries to get out here to get Boom Sticked which for those who don't know is his finishing manoeuvre. Jay Bradley qualified for the BFG Series by winning the Gut Check BFG qualifiers tournament, beating Sam Shaw in the final. Aries qualified for the BFG Series by beating Eric Young.
Aries quickly comes down to the ring and whilst he is still taunting to the crowd before the match, Bradley attempts a cheap shot from behind however, Aries counters and throws Bradley over the top rope and follows with a Axe Handle off the top rope to the ringside. Aries going full pace taking it to Bradley with quick paced offences. Bradley finally slows things down with a big boot to Aries off the top rope to ringside, this allowed Bradley to have a spell of control in this match up, showing what he can do when up against one of the best in TNA with a serious offence.

'A Double' Austin Aries
TNA Impact Wrestling
Things soon change in favour of Aries when Bradley misses a big boot and gets caught on the top rope. Aries remains in control, however only for a short while as Bradley uses his strength advantage and delivers a Back Breaker to Aries and tries to follow up with a Boom Stick however countered by Aries with a Crucifix. Aries gains an impressive win as he manages to pick up Jay Bradley for a Brain Buster and although he struggles to do so he hits perfectly for a 3 count and picks himself up 7 points on 3:37.

They then go to a video package regarding Sting losing and being left alone at Slammiversary with not one member of the locker room coming out to help him and that last week Sting announced that he is bringing back a family, which is a New Main Event Mafia and that they're going to be the fall The Aces & Eights.
It then goes backstage to Sting backstage talking to a reporter saying last week he said MEM will rise and tonight it will grow. It then goes to Sting backstage in a dark room talking to someone backstage however unable to see who he is talking to. Sting states that motorcycle clubs talk about brotherhood but that there is only one thing that trumps a brotherhood and that is a real family. He then says to the person in the shadow so one more time are you in and I mean all in. Sting then takes the hand of the mystery person, mafia style and states they will shut them down and they will have fun doing it.

Kurt's Notes:

I enjoyed this match, not the best match I've ever seen but a good solid BFG Series match with Jay Bradley impressing against an experienced and established Austin Aries. Both competitors having good spells in the match with the right guy winning as I believe TNA can't go full steam ahead and push Bradley to the sky from the kick off.
I'm personally loving the fact that Main Event Mafia are returning even though it isn't going to be the same Mafia as last time. It was an interesting promo from Sting as they're not giving anything away with who will be the first member that Sting has recruited for his 'New Mafia'.

It then goes backstage to former 2 time TNA Tag Team Champions, BFG contestant Hernandez and his tag team partner Chavo Guerrero. Chavo is giving his partner some words of encouragement telling him to bring home the points for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Then we have it former 7 time TNA Tag Team Champion Hernandez coming out for the third BFG Series match of the night without his partner Chavo who previously stated he needed to do it himself. Hernandez states that out of all the competitors in the BFG Series, there is one loud mouth that really pisses him off and calls out a former 3 time X-Division Champion,7 time TNA Tag Team Champion and a successful champion in ROH, Christopher Daniels.
Hernandez qualified for the BFG Series by beating his partner Chavo Guerrero in a singles match and Daniels qualified for the Series as he and his Bad Influence partner Frankie Kazarian beat current TNA Tag Team Champions James Storm & Gunner to qualify.

Christopher Daniels, mimicking Road Warriors
TNA Impact Wrestling
Daniels started things off by going straight for Hernandez as soon as he got in the ring to try and get the upper hand from the start. However it isn't before long that Hernandez gains control and his strength and size proves to be an advantage. Daniels doesn't let Hernandez gain control for much longer as he soon counters to get back into things with the match back and forth between the competitors. As the commentators state, Hernandez is in 'Beast Mode' constantly and this proves to be the case as Hernandez takes down Daniels, goes out to the ramp and does his known 'swan like' dive over the top rope and hits Daniels. Hernandez looking crazed with his mouth bust open just full of momentum. Still neither competitor gaining complete control as Hernandez shuts down Daniels attacks due to size and strength however the quickness and smartness of Daniels shuts down Hernandez's momentum. The win comes as Hernandez has hold of Daniel who's holding on to his life with the ropes, which leads to a distracted referee and allows Daniels to Low Blow Hernandez with a kick and then hit the 'BME' Best Moonsault Ever for the 3 count and pick up the 7 points on the 2:29 mark.

Frankie Kazarian
TNA Impact Wrestling
The fourth BFG Series match of the night starts off with last match winners tag partner Frankie Kazarian. The former 5 time X-Division Champion and 3 time TNA Tag Team Champion Kazarian starts things off by saying "All you turd burglars just witnessed the beginning of the Bad Influence domination in the BFG Series and I'm going to keep it rolling right now and I'm going to call out a guy who everyone around here is claiming to be the next the breakout star of this company. A man who even Dixie Carter herself claims is the future and she also 'says in a cheesy voice' thinks he's gorgeous tehee, giggle". He finishes with calling out former 2 time TNA Tag Team Champion and also a former IWGP Tag Team Champion in TNA, Magnus. Kazarian qualified for the BFG Series, as previously stating winning a tag match with Daniels, Magnus however qualified with a fatal-4-way victory over fellow Brit Rob Terry, 'The Blueprint' Matt Morgan and Kenny King.

Magnus
TNA Impact Wrestling
Outcomes Magnus and the match is underway and in the first couple of minutes of the matchup there is no real control of the match for either wrestler as things keep going back and forth. After various attempts to take control from both wrestlers it looked like Magnus may have picked up the victory by impressively catching Kazarian following a springboard off the ropes and hits him with a Side Superplex, only got a 2 count as Kazarian manages to get his foot on the rope last minute. However the victory soon came as Kazarian seemed to find a way back into things and went for a drop kick off the top rope soon after kicking out, however Magnus counters and locks in the Texas Cloverleaf and made Kazarian tap out on the 2:54 mark to be the first to gain a submission win and get 10 points.

Kurt's Notes:

The third match of the night wasn't disappointing, just a standard Hernandez and Daniels match up with Daniels stealing the win with an assist of a Low Blow, big 7 points to get Daniels off the mark. I personally didn't mind who got the 7 points as both competitors have something to offer if they were to be in the TNA World Heavyweight Championship picture. The forth match of the night between Magnus and Kazarian was a pleasing match. Kazarian being vintage Kazarian cutting once again a brilliant promo. the "he's gorgeous, tehee giggle" was brilliant in my opinion. The match itself was very pleasing, even more so with Magnus picking up the win with a series of impressive counters and getting the submission win to make him 1st place as things stand. Not sure whether its due to me biased with him being a fellow Englishman or not but this guy has potential and TNA really need to set the wheels in motion ever more with this guy as I believe he could be the face of TNA Impact Wrestling.

It then goes backstage to Hogan who is talking on the phone, not sure who too but he says "3 new guys kinda fill the new void we have". He then soon hangs up as he realises Bully Ray is lurking and then grabs Ray against the wall and states he's a dead man. He tells Bully to get it over with and give him his best shot with a hammer. Bully states that he wants to talk to Brooke, but Hogan tells him they're done. Bully again not sure whether its mind games or not states if its over why did Brooke stop Hogan last week from hitting Bully with the hammer.

Mickie James - Knockouts Champion
TNA Impact Wrestling
Brooke Hogan is now addressing the state of the Knockout Division. She starts off by saying how proud she is of the Knockout Division and how far they've come over the past year. After talking a little bit of what the Knockouts have been doing lately she then calls them all out to ring. That being; ODB coming out with her husband and TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion Partner Eric Young, Velvet Sky, Taryn Terrell, Gail Kim then gives the TNA Knockout Champion a special introduction and outcomes 'Hardcore Country' Mickie James. Mickie comes out saying she's happy to be able to speak on behalf of the Knockouts Division. Mickie staying with he heel attitude starts to big herself up and then has a sly sarcastic dig at Velvet Sky and her knee.
Brooke's first piece of business is with Eric Young (who gets a big pop from the crowd). Eric Young states technically he's not a women and says he's the toughest dude standing in the ring right now, even though he's the only 'dude'. He says the bad news is that they can't be champions so he gives his and ODB's titles to Brooke Hogan and says the good news is its national kissing day and he and ODB soon end up rolling on the ramp kissing before running off.

Gail Kim vs Taryn Terrell
TNA Slammiversary 2013

Brooke starts saying how proud she is off Velvet and seems like she is about to give her rematch for the TNA Knockouts Championship and make it official but then Mickie interrupts and tries saying that Velvet knee is still weak, even though it seems to be fine. Brooke replies saying that Mickie and Velvet for the championship will be happening next week. Gail Kim then says she wants the title shot and that she is the most important Knockout in history. Brooke replies saying she'll get her rematch but not for the title it will be her and Taryn having their rematch, this time it's not going to be a 'Last Knockout Standing' match instead they'll be wrestling in a Ladder match. The statement of their match was to conclude the addressing of the Knockouts Division by Brooke Hogan.

Kurt's Notes:

An interesting phone call from Hogan, I'm hoping on the other end was Sting and that they're going to be 3 new faces or old faces returning and being part of the Main Event Mafia. The confrontation between Hogan and Bully was ok, both seem to be working well together but I don't have any real interest in whether Brooke is going to be with Bully or not. The Knockout division got some good air time then and have been of late and I'm pleased with. Give credit when its due, these women can go. They all know how to wrestle, no disrespect to WWE but on one hand you have WWE's Diva's having a few slaps then a victory apart from AJ & Kaitlin which somewhat tells me WWE know they've got to step it up. On the other hand is TNA, you have Knockouts wrestling at PPV's in Last Knockouts Standing matches which has been quite popular and must see to a lot of wrestling fans and now there is going to be a ladder match between the two Knockouts. I'm also happy to see that the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship has finally been given up, hopefully we'll see a return of Knockouts and bring back the tag division as that was a new unique factor regarding female wrestlers.

It then goes back to showing the footage previously show, first showing Sting arriving in his Mafia suit and then him having a sit down with a mystery person backstage.
After showing that still to come are two BFG Series matches, it goes backstage to Hogan telling Brooke she did a great job but its time for her to go home to avoid Bully and puts her into a car and for her to be drove to their hotel.

The fifth match of the BFG Series tonight starts off with a TNA Original coming out first, this guy is a former 4 time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, 2 time TNA Television Champion, 6 time TNA Tag Team Champion and 6 time X-Division Champion, it is 'The Phenomenal' AJ Styles. His opponent is one guy he has had amazing feuds and matches with over the past including a 5 star triple threat match with Daniels as the third guy. He is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, TNA Television Champion, 2 time TNA Tag Team Champion, 4 time X-Division Champion, it is 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe. AJ Styles qualified for the BFG Series with a very impressive win over the 'Olympic Gold Medallist' Kurt Angle. Samoa Joe qualified for the BFG Series with an easy win over Robbie E.
Before the match AJ Styles speaks for the first time since returning to TNA Impact Wrestling. He states that this isn't about The Aces & Eights and it isn't about TNA, it is about him, its about him becoming the next TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He then states he's not doing it for the fame or glory but he is doing it for the money. He said everyone is looking for a hero but if he has learnt one thing from the past 11 years is that this is no place for a hero. He finishes by saying he's sick and tired of the doing the right thing and instead he is doing his own thing.

Now to start the match outcomes Samoa Joe, the match shows the experience that two have with one another with them both being familiar with the others approach however, with a more physical style to AJ's offence, he manages to be the stronger out of the two. Joe gains control of the match by kicking AJ's legs off the apron and plants him face first. Joe has a spell of control throughout the commercial break and as they come back, Styles sends Joe out to the floor with what seems to be the best drop kick in the business and follows up with a baseball slide. Styles gets a close 2 fall with a springboard flying forearm shot, Styles looking most likely to get the win at the moment, Styles picking up the face is countered by Joe who also gets a near 2 fall but quickly applies a submission from the pin, trying to get the 10 points. AJ gets out by managing to reach the ropes.

A previous match between Samoa Joe & AJ Styles
Joe tries to set up Styles for the muscle buster, but AJ blocks, so Joe goes up to the second rope to Superplex Styles, however Styles seems to counter with what seemed to be a Cross Body and both men are laid out in the ring. Styles is first to his feet and starts delivering fast paced strikes and kicks before Joe returns with a monstrous right jab and starts delivering blows of his own to AJ. AJ manages to apply the Calf Killer submission in which he made James Storm tap out with in his return, however Joe counters with his Coquina Clutch, both men coming close to the submission win, Styles counters into a pinfall and Joe kicks out on 2. It is announced that there is only 30 seconds left of the match which instantly you are able to see the intensity of both competitors pick up trying to pick up the victory. It seemed like Joe may just sneak the win with a Half Nelson. Joe hears the bell and thinks he's won until it is announced it is a time limit draw. This then leads to Styles striking Joe, but both are soon separated. Fans making sure that they're heard chanting let them fight, as I feel the same way and didn't want this match to end, vintage Styles & Joe. The fans then start chanting 5 more minutes, with Joe also holding up 5 fingers asking for 5 more minutes to determine a winner as Styles walks away. That concluding this match as a draw with both AJ Styles and Samoa Joe picking up 2 points each.

Chris Sabin, X-Division Champion
TNA Impact Wrestling
It goes backstage to The Aces & Eights with Bully on the phone to Brooke asking her why did she go home, because she knew he wanted to see her tonight and that he needed to see her tonight. He then says yes come back because I need to talk to you and for her to turn the car around. Bully then tells the guys that Brooke is on her way back and to make sure she does get back, he tells Devon, D.O.C & Knox to make sure she gets back.

It then goes over to Hulk Hogan talking to X-Division Champion, Chris Sabin along with former X-Division Champions, Kenny King and Suicide. Hogan tells them that Social Media is all over the X-Division matches and that this is a big opportunity, then talks about July 18th where the current X-Division Champion is allowed to vacate the title to face Bully Ray for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Kurt's Notes:

Again I'm not really bothered with Brooke Hogan and whether she's going to get back with Bully Ray, so I wasn't really interested in Hogan putting her in the car and later on Bully telling her to come back. I want that to happen already so its all about the Main Event Mafia feuding with The Aces & Eights. I'm wanting to know who Sting is going to get to join forces with him and join his 'family'. Now on to the good stuff, Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles.... WOW! Once again these two put on a brilliant match which got the crowd begging for more, these two are just brilliant so I am hoping that somewhere in the near future these two are going to go at it for real, a big feud, with these two having a few PPV matches as they're always different and next disappoint brilliant work by both of them with the right result in the end as neither competitor deserved to loss and both kick start their BFG Series campaign with 2 points a piece. Best match of the night so far in my opinion.

It now goes to the 6th BFG Series match and the last of the night. Out first is 'The IT Factor' Bobby Roode and then he is met by 'The Charismatic Enigma' Jeff Hardy. Before Hardy is able to get to the ring, Roode runs up the ramp to meet him and both start trading blows on the ramp with Hardy coming out stronger throwing him back into the ring and Hardy has his foot on the pedal and is taking it to Bobby Roode. Roode soon gets his foot in the match and quickly tries to end the match by applying the Crossface to Hardy who manages to break it up by reaching the ropes. Bobby Roode in complete control of the match with well timed offence just weakening Hardy early on in the match. Hardy manages to get back into things with two consecutive blocks in the corner following up with a splash off the middle rope but could only get a 2 count. Hardy seems to be feelings things and having a good spell of fluent offensive moves before he is stopped by a Spine Buster, Roode could only get a 2 count. Roode goes to hit Hardy with a Fisherman, however, Hardy counters and hits Roode with a sit down Twist Of Fate. Hardy then follows up by going high risk to hit the Swanton Bomb, however Roode manages to roll out of the way and applies the Cross Face to Hardy in the centre of the ring, Hardy manages to counter with a pin, could only get a 2 count. Roode goes back to Cross Face, however Hardy again counters and hits Twist Of Fate properly this team which proves to be more effective has he picks up the 7 points with a 3 count on 6:15.

'The Charismatic Enigma' Jeff Hardy
TNA Impact Wrestling
Kurt's Notes:

This was a very good match also, Bobby Roode was the most impressive for me, as he usually is, however we all knew this was a match that Jeff Hardy wasn't going to lose cleanly. As much as I believe Hardy is a good wrestler and done wonders for TNA, I would have preferred a Bobby Roode win. Things go on, and its Jeff Hardy starting the series with 7 points and Roode still grounded on 0.

Here is how The Bound For Glory leader board currently stands:
  1. Magnus                            10 Points     1 Match
  2. Austin Aries                     7  Points     1 Match
  3. Christopher Daniels        7  Points     1 Match
  4. Jeff Hardy                        7  Points     1 Match
  5. Mr Anderson                   7  Points     1 Match
  6. AJ Styles                           2  Points     1 Match
  7. Samoa Joe                         2  Points     1 Match
  8. Bobby Roode                     0  Points     1 Match
  9. Hernandez                         0  Points     1 Match
  10. Jay Bradley                       0  Points     1 Match
  11. Joseph Park                       0  Points     1 Match
  12. Frankie Kazarian              0  Points     1 Match

It goes backstage to Sting waling about, and looked to be leaving so the reported asked, Sting replied no and he has some business to attend to. Will we be seeing the first member of Main Event Mafia tonight?

President of The Aces & Eights, TNA World Heavyweight Champion
Bully Ray
TNA Impact Wrestling
Over to the ring and outcomes TNA World Heavyweight Champion, the president of The Aces & Eights, Bully Ray. Bully starts by talking about the Bound For Glory Series and that there's 12 guys all fighting each other for a shot at him and his TNA World Heavyweight Champion, he then talks about next week 3 guys from the X-Division are fighting each other with the winner getting a shot at Bully Ray. He then says that makes it 15 guys that are trying to take him down and take his belt. He goes on to saying the last thing any of them want is to face him, he then says since its 'Open Fight Night' he wants to call somebody out but not to fight. He then calls out Brooke Hogan, after calling her out twice and she doesn't show we hear the music of Main Event Mafia and then see Sting walk out to the ring to join Bully.
Sting, talking about his 'New' Main Event Mafia
TNA Impact Wrestling
Sting tells Bully that he knew that no lone wolf would be able to pierce Aces & Eights and that's the reason he's gone back to his 'family'. Bully talks about beating him to the fans as he can't accept the fact they're chanting 'Sting'. He then reiterates that he is the reason that Sting will never get a shot for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship again. Sting says he's correct but that doesn't mean he can't get retribution on Bully and that he can't get retribution on him tonight. Bully asks what kind of retribution is Sting going to get on him and states that Sting has nothing left in his tank. As Sting has his back to Bully undoing his tie, Bully tells Sting that he knows all he has to do is snap his fingers and his family will come out here right now.
Bully is getting frustrated with Sting because he wont turn and face him whilst he's talking and all he is doing is slowing getting undressed as he takes off his suit jacket. Sting then walks up and close to Bully with his shirt unbuttoned as Bully snaps his fingers and calls for The Aces & Eights to come out to the ring. Bully calls again for The Aces & Eights but they're not showing. Sting then throws his shirt onto the face of Bully. Bully again calling for them to come out, so Sting taps him to look at the screen where you see the remaining three of The Aces & Eights that stayed behind; Anderson, Wes & Garrett laid out in the back.
With that Sting drops Bully who soon backs up on the ramp with Sting slowly walking in front of him telling him to come here. With that Kurt Angle comes out in his suit, takes Bully down with the ankle lock and as the champ is laid tapping on the stage, Sting lays right in his face shouting at him. As the show goes off air.

Kurt's Notes:

It was an interesting piece from Sting & Bully, was surprised that B'Hogan didn't come down to the ring to her husband, with Sting once again performing well in his promo's. I am intrigued to see who else is going to be joining Main Event Mafia and I'm pleased to see that Kurt Angle has joined. On this note, I am hoping he is the only member of the old Main Event Mafia that Sting has recruited, I don't want to be seeing Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash or Booker T back in TNA and glad a couple will have prior commitments. Overall a good show to kick start The Bound For Glory Series, I'm just wondering if other members of Main Event Mafia was involved with the attacks on The Aces & Eights, we'll soon find out next week.

Hope you've enjoyed reading this article, come back next week for the next review of TNA Impact.
