Should have Team Hell No lost and split up at Wrestlemania 29?

So once again that special main event called Wrestlemania has been and gone, once again leaving many unanswered questions to why someone may have not done something which was expected or what’s going to happen now. I believe questions and debates round the WWE Universe may be regarding the Tag Team titles and Team Hell No.

Don’t get me wrong Team Hell No have been brilliant tag team partners and before they came together due to the brilliant anger management techniques of DR.Shelby whom I believe should have been their manager, ever since he decided to put these to crazed, angered and odd superstars together it has been non stop dominance for them in the Tag Team Division. Yes Team Hell No seemed to be a pairing doomed from the start, this being the rivalry which they had, the lack of interest in each other and no connection between the two, however they grew and got on the same page which has had a hilarious and dominating journey. The duo which looked to be a ticking time bomb with either partner looked to be screwing the other one, this then evaded and again Team Hell No became dominant due to being on the same page.

Since winning the belts back on Raw’s September 10th edition. Team Hell No have now been going strong for 7 long months carrying the Tag Team Championship and bringing back some credibility to the division which had been gaining no interest from the fans due to poor management, poor team’s and poor storylines surrounding the division. They accomplished this by beating team’s such as; Rhodes Scholars, R-Truth & Kofi Kingston, Epico & Primo, The Uso’s & Prime Time Players.

Team Hell No have had their up’s and down’s as a tag team as there’s been many times where we anticipated the end of Team Hell No and the start of a great feud which would be The Big Red Monster Kane vs Daniel Bryan, this seemed to be what was happening when they turned on each other in the Royal Rumble and again in Elimination Chamber. However they again pulled it together when they where coming up to Wrestlemania 29 when they beat the debuting team of Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston.

So to the topic in hand, should have Team Hell No lost the titles and split up at Wrestlemania 29? I am not too sure and have a split opinion, on one hand you’ve got the champions which have great chemistry which would line up an amazing feud between one another and have two young and future stars being Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston win the gold. On the other hand you’ve had Team Hell No attempt to build the Tag Team Division for the past 7 months, for what them to lose to a debuting team at Wrestlemania? One of them having his official debut as a wrestler in the WWE. I wasn’t fond of the idea, what did Big E Langston do to deserve the title shot? But again you could of had Ziggler and Big E the new Tag Team Champions, AJ at some point hold the Diva’s Championship and Dolph Ziggler cash in and win the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 29, this didn’t happen but would have been pretty cool to have a new cool faction holding the gold, making Smackdown once again worthy of everyone tuning in but this didn’t happen either, it was a Team Hell No title defence.

So there we have it two different views of what could have been good and bad if they had lost the titles, we had no Ziggler cash in, we had Team Hell No defending this leaving to the thoughts and opinions of why? What’s left for them to do? Who will actually take the belts off Team Hell No? Now it is all making sense why this happened, WWE had Dolph Ziggler cash in and win the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. The decision of WWE to keep Team Hell No together after mania made even more sense after the Raw which followed Mania.

Since the dominant trio named The Shield debuted in the WWE back at Survivor Series, they’ve had on and off feud’s with Team Hell No, have a 6-Man tag match at TLC with Ryback teaming with Team Hell No. Shield have destroyed whichever team or superstar which has crossed paths with them, and then they set their sights on the brother of one half of the Tag Team Champions. Shield came from the crowd to surround the ring, the ring which had the presence of The Undertaker in, they where wanting to make history they wanted to take out the Icon, The Phenom himself, The Undertaker. They soon ran from the ring into the crowd as the Tag Team Champions, Team Hell No came sprinting down to the ring to save Kane’s brother The Undertaker.

This could be setting up Shield’s next victims or the Shield’s downfall as this could now be setting up a treat for the WWE Universe, that being The Shield, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, taking on Kane’s greatest two tag partners, the uniting of The Brothers Of Destruction along with Kane’s tag team partner Daniel Bryan for Team Hell No which could set an epic encounter at Extreme Rules.

Due to this possibility I think WWE have done the right thing with keep Kane & Daniel Bryan, Team Hell No together after Wrestlemania? But what could be next for them after Extreme Rules, who will be the team to take the titles from Team Hell No causing the duo to split and start their long anticipated feud.

Thank you for reading and please leave your thoughts and opinions on the subject of ‘Should have Team Hell No lost the titles at mania and split?’

  1. An excellent and well structured article, Kurt. You raise a lot of great points and I think I agree with them all. Tag team wrestling is certainly a dying art. However, I think The Shield should be the ones to dethrone Team Hell No and invoke the "Freebird Rule"

  2. I agree, there should be effort to make Team Hell No last as long as possible, but the WWE should know when it's ran it's course and when to finish it, and hand the titles to another team

  4. A great article there Kurt but almost pointless because you on more than one occasion quite rightly answer your own question.

I am a huge Dolph Ziggler fan and goes without saying I would of loved to of seen him lift gold on the grandest stage of them all. The Kane & Bryan team has been a great story and a great journey but I think Daniel Bryan needs to cut loose and go solo he's to good to keep carrying Kane.

I think the timing was right for the new faction/team of Dolph, Big E & AJ to take the gold and build on a foundation. And as for not earning it I think he did, taking it to Kane or D.Bryan every week fair enough not in a match but that seems to be the way of making an impression nowadays (Fandango & The Rock good example's there).
Plus Dolph has been earning gold for month's but has been granted nothing except loss after loss I really thought he deserved victory at Mania even if he didn't leave with the gold (DQ or countout).

But it's been a long time since there's been a faction that held all the gold to long but if you think they didn't deserve a title shot an was to decide on a team that deserved a tag team title shot I think the only team to deserve it would be The Shield and that wasn't gonna happen.

Plus who have Team Hell No got to look forward to compete against now it's not like WWE have a great tag team division. If Dolph & Big E had won they could of had a little rivalry, made something of it but no they screwed Dolph once again like they have for month's and used him to put on a show and let a so called goat hit him with a supposedly illegal move (the Benoit story).

So to sum up from an unbiased point of view I don't see what good came from Team Hell No leaving with the title's but do think you also have a point with your blog.

  5. nice comment Danny, cheers, and regarding answering my own question, you may have a point, but as stated above I think it would have been pretty cool if the new faction held the tag gold, the world title and diva's would be pretty cool! but up until seeing them come out on raw to save taker that's the only reason why I think it may be good that they kept it, WWE need to build tag teams not build split them put them back together to job like Rhodes scholars, plus if they're still together they can't start their epic feud with each other.
    thanks again.
