Why Samoa Joe would be perfect and a HUGE success in WWE

Samoa Joe is no stranger to the die hard wrestling fan's regardless to which product they choose to watch. Samoa Joe first came about through the independent circuits more noticeably Ring Of Honour. As a TNA fan I think it is appalling and I’m baffled why this guy isn’t one of the guys leading the company. I mean come on this guy is one of few in TNA that has the potential to match the likes of CM Punk. This guy along with CM Punk was the two who built Ring Of Honour, with these two guys having great matches and great feuds with each others. Whilst in Ring Of Honour these two guys had a ‘five star rating’ match.

The reason why Samoa Joe should go to the WWE is simple, its a bigger stage and there will be more opportunities for the guy, that’s if creative don’t mess it up. This guy had taken it to another level in TNA defying all the odds to become a X-Division along with having great main event World Title matches with the likes of Sting and Kurt Angle, two accomplished guys the latter would get snapped up by WWE straight away in my opinion and everyone knows Sting would be thrown in to the Wrestlemania dream match with The Undertaker. So why isn’t this guy still leading the company, instead its people like Jeff Hardy which gets all the opportunities.

To the reason why I think he’d be a perfect signing for the WWE is that they like big guys, so this guy isn’t built like the 7 footers which WWE, but he’s built like the Samoan he is. I mean this guy is 280lb’s and flies through the ropes like he’s some cruiserweight, his speed and agility for a man of his build is very impressive, so along with being strong hence ‘Joe’s gonna kill you’ he doesn’t get that chant for no reason. Joe is also agile and fast paced in the ring this, not only this but the guy is brilliant technically, his submission moves are faultless and his overall technical ability is very impressive.

So again why is the guy who pushed CM Punk to the limit the man who is suppose to be the best in the world and has had the longest WWE Title reign of his era, who had a ‘five star rating’ match with Punk and well many said was better than Punk in ROH, still taking a back seat and put in pointless feuds of late, always being just another guy. My first point being the TV title, Joe started to build this title, defending it week in and week out with a feud with his ex partner Magnus. This then got stopped and Devon won it for the aces and eights, the belt is TV Championship yet its never being defended? Why not give it to some guy who’s good enough to have a feud for this built which will captivate the fans just as much as the feud for the World Title?

So this being again stated above this guy is; fast, strong, technical and will make anyone tap out with his catalogue of moves. Why not take him to the big time? Which in my opinion if he started on Raw 08/04/2013 the night after Wrestlemania, I could guarantee this guy would be in an important match come the next Wrestlemania. I mean who wouldn’t like to see the five star match relived on a bigger scale? I mean WWE have used many of CM Punk’s old pieces in ROH, such as leaving with the title and the pipe bomb, why not have a five star match which would be worthy of main eventing Wrestlemania, with or without the WWE Championship on the line. I’m sure everyone would like to see a Samoa Joe, CM Punk 2 out 3 falls lasting near enough an hour? It would epic and one to remember. If my memory is correct then I can also quote CM Punk stating if he could sign anyone for WWE it would be Samoa Joe, I’m sure if they approached Kurt Angle and Sting, even Kevin Nash and Tazz for a second opinion they’d say take Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe has had a successful career and still got years left in him, at being the age of 34 Samoa Joe has already become a legend in ROH history after holding their ROH Championship for a record 21 months, he then went to TNA in which he hadn’t lost a match by pinfall or submission and had a undefeated streak which lasted 18 months. It’s no surprise that this guy is a serious wrestler and force to be reckoned with. As stated above Samoa Joe has had a 5 star match with CM Punk in ROH back in 2004, the following year he was granted two more 5 star matches in 2005. One being in ROH and one being a triple threat in TNA at Unbreakable against AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels for the X-Division title, a match the main evented that PPV. I could go on all day just talking about his accomplishments, such as winning every belt there is to win in TNA, his amazing feuds his catalogue of moves but I’ll state more reason’s why he’d help WWE.

As shown above this guy main evented in a five star match for the X Division title, which show’s this guy can dance, even when its not for the big gold, so why not have someone like him carry the Intercontinental Championship or United States Championship, because if this guy was holding the gold I can tell you now he wouldn’t be taking a back seat to nobody, there wouldn’t be any missing from the Wrestlemania card it’d be all Samoa Joe, the fans would be on board with his matches, wanting to see him week in and week out, and I think Samoa Joe would be the guy to make the mid-card relevant having someone who is more than ready to challenge for the big one, just carry and build the mid-card belts to somewhat they use to be.

To conclude this article, Samoa Joe needs to be the front guy of TNA, WWE need to approach Samoa Joe, this guy could main event Wrestlemania not only with CM Punk but with anyone he comes up again, this guy isn’t a 2 minute match kind of guy he likes the long ones, the five star matches. He’s accomplished everywhere he’s been and his attributes would separate him from anyone else they have in the WWE. All in all Samoa Joe in WWE could only have a major effect for the company.

  1. Another great Blog, Kurt. You make a lot of strong points, he is a phenomenal wrestler and he has something that the WWE loves, a great physique. He would be fantastic on the big stage, his ring style reminds me of William Regal's in the sense that it's devastatingly brutal which allows meaningful feuds that could get bloody.

  2. Great blog with some great point's, you do repeat yourself a little but quite obviously because you feel strongly on the subject.
I do agree I don't see how any wrong could come from Samoa Joe signing for WWE. He would shoot straight to the top no doubt but I think a slow rise would be the best for him because he has so much to offer and would not like to see to much to soon.
The only fear I would have of WWE signing Samoa Joe is they would just misuse him or waste him like they did with Umaga.
I used to be a fan of TNA and watched the show religiously until the aces & 8's appeared on the scene then I got bored of it. But Joe was by far my favorite superstar on the show, he brings so much to the plate and can easily make the worst superstar on the show look good, he just surpasses logic and defies gravity. Plus his moves arsenal is purely terrific he hits every move so accurately and precisely he just puts on an amazing show.
But more to the point you don't really need anyone to reply to your blog because you put it all so well.
