Well, it's that magical time of years again the bright lights are up, many people wait in anticipation, no I aren't talking about Christmas, I'm of course referring to the wonderful event that is Wrestlemania.
So with the big event just 2 days away, excitement among fans couldn't be higher as the roster descends on NY/NJ. It's the best time of year to be a fan of 'sports entertainment' that's for sure. As RAW keeps boasting proudly that fans from 22 countries will be attending the big event, I myself would sell my own mother for a chance to be there, but chances are I wouldn't get much for her anyway.
To me it begs the question, if people from 22 countries are THAT eager to see it, what would be the harm in taking 'Mania outside North America? Sure, logistically it would be a nightmare, getting the roster, the crew, the backroom staff and the set over to a different country would hit WWE majorly in the wallet, but there's nothing to say they couldn't have the set built locally wherever they were staging it? Say for instance they decide to hold 'Mania at Wembley Stadium in London, there would be plenty of construction firms who would bite off Vince McMahon's hand to be working on a Wrestlemania set, because that gaurauntees one thing; publicity.
As for air fares, airlines would queue up to sponsor the event and fly ocver the superstars therefore free of charge, so there's some money saved.
You would also pretty much certainly sell it out, set up properly Wembley could hold up to 100,000 for an event like that, that's 100,000 fans they wouldn't reach by restricting their operations to America, and not to mention the revenue it would make, and that's before the post Wrestlemania UK tour, which they wouldn't have to travel any further for, as they'd already be there.
So there we have it, could we see a Wrestlemania, coming to a country near you? WWE, make it happen? Wrestlemania XXXI maybe?
