The Dominant Trio Known As The Shield

So here we are. I have reached the end of my series covering The Shield. If you're not aware go back and check out my recent blogs, I've covered  the potential of each member of The Shield, now I would like to end my mini series talking about The Shield as a whole.

As you may full well know by now The Shield made their debut on November 18 2012 at Survivor Series aiding CM Punk in defending his WWE Championship. In doing so they destroyed one of WWE's fastest rising stars in Ryback triple power bombing him through the announcers table which has become their signature move.

Since then the trio have rallied to Shield the WWE from injustice and in doing so assaulting some of WWE's biggest stars and going to earn themselves an impressive 3 win PPV streak including a debut win at the grandest stage of them all Wresltlemania and a win at Raw as well.

I don't remember the last time three young guys have made such a great impact in such a short time and I think The Shield is far from over. They have managed to gain pins over Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, as well as taking out The Miz, Kane, Sheamus, Brad Maddox, John Cena and The Rock.

The Shield are not only dominant but they are also a special team inside the squared circle. They have demonstrated some fantastic tag team wrestling which is a dying art in WWE. As well as unique tag team moves they have executed triple team moves mainly their signature power bomb.

The Shield have also cut impressive promos together, each of them getting their own time to shine and none of them hog the spotlight, they are without a doubt one of the best teams in years.

Dean Ambrose is 27 years old, Seth Rollins is 26 and Roman Reigns is also 27. The future looks bright. This trio has been compared to The Freebirds on more than one occasion and whilst that is a great compliment, what if The Shield invoked The Freebird rule? Afterall it's only a matter of time before The Shield wins gold right?

So what do you guys think? Do The Shield remind you of The Fabulous Freebirds? Have you been impressed? Do they deserve Championship gold? Leave your comments below.
