One Third of the Shield, Dean Ambrose

Throughout WWE's rich history, fans across the globe have frequently talked about who is going to be the next big star. In WWE some have gone on to headline Wrestlemania and some have flopped. There is a lot of bright young talent in WWE presently with a lot of potential to become stars but I want to talk about one WWE talent in particular and that is the unique personality that is Dean Ambose.

Dean Ambrose formealy known as Jon Moxley made a name for himeself in such promotions as Combat Zone Wrestling, Evolve and DragonGate USA. Jon Moxley carried an infamous reputation for a hardcore style and a vast variety of bloody matches, he also cuts unique and edgy promo's that made people believe everything he did but it wasn't just his promos that sold his character, very much like Jake Roberts he brought his character to the ring and even in his entrance. It doesn't what promotion Moxley went to because he always got his character over and left a trail of bodies as he won gold.

WWE signed Dean Ambrose on April 4 2011 but it wasn't until July 3 when he made his debut for WWE's developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling and as fast as he signed he issued a challenge to the Florida 15 Champion Seth Rollins to a match in his debut promo, a unique promo that instantly made him stand out from the pack. In the following weeks he won squash matches and cut promos challenging Rollins to a  match, to quote Ambrose "Seth! until you face me, you are a question mark" Evenutally Rollins was incinded to accept his challenge which led to a best of three, that concluded with a 30 minute Iron Man match that Rollins eventually won in what is considered the best FCW match in history.

On October 21 Dean Ambrose challenged CM Punk to a match who was making a guest appearance at one of FCW's house shows. CM Punk accepted and beat Ambrose in a 30 minute match, after the match CM Punk paid tribute to Dean Ambose by saying "the first Dean Ambrose is in the back."

Following his defeat he set his sights on Wilam Regal, a legend and at that time FCW commentator, William Regal was very fond of Ambrose and how did Ambrose respond to that? he attacked him which led to a match that Regal won. Ambrose become obsessed and wouldn't let it go however so he began to use Regal's finishing maneuvers to end matches that eventually led to a rematch that was stopped because Ambrose cut Regal's ear open, FCW's commentator's questioned Regal's future as Ambrose hit Regal with his own knee trembler after the match.

On November 18 2012 at Survivor Series Dean Ambrose made his WWE debut as a part of The Shield. The Shield are a band of rebels who fight for justice and whilst both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have potential, I think Dean Ambrose is the one of the trio that stands out. From the first time The Shield spoke on WWE Television it was clear that Dean Ambrose was the mouthpiece. "Nope" is just a one worded answer by anyone else and it isn't anything worth talking about but the way Dean Ambrose says it, he made it a sight to behold and WWE fans everywhere quickly relized what kind of a talent WWE had their hands on.

  1. A very good and interesting article. For those who don't know much of Dean Ambrose's background they would now know, show's a bold personality and that he's upfront with his thoughts and opinions. A good article with little to work with as he has only attacked people and participated in 6 man tag matches in WWE. Nicely done

  2. A quality, well narrated & deep article there. Well descriptive an put across. I didn't realize that Ambrose had actually accomplished so much nor realize that he'd been around so long. I do see him as a potential big star but have been a fan of WWE long enough to know that he'll end up been a mid-card competitor before you know it.
